You will be the catalyst on a collaborative team developing in vitro metabolic systems. Your contribution will be pivotal in ensuring that our scientists can work in the most functional, safe and well-stocked environment they can get, enabling them to push forward the company’s technology. Success in this role will be enabled by collaboration with existing team members and measured by minimising any downtime caused by equipment failure, delayed orders, or safety issues. You’ll report to our VP Operations and be tightly synced with our entire Applied Research team.
Create and enforce laboratory policies for biological, chemical and ﬁre safety.
Maintain laboratory stocks, consumables, reagents and solvents as needed.
Organise equipment purchasing, delivery, maintenance and training.
Facilitate the basic purchase order and invoicing system of lab orders as well as the necessary documentation for grant accounting.
Organise chemical waste disposal and regular laboratory cleaning.
Take advantage of opportunities to streamline or automate processes and procure discounts from regular suppliers.
Contribute to a passionate, creative and open-minded work environment.
Extensive experience (perhaps > 5 years) working as a lab manager in a chemistry and/or microbiology laboratory.
Motivated, ﬂexible and organised team player with a growth mindset.
